West LRT
Scarboro will be directly impacted by the possible removal of houses on the North West corner of our community and by the increased noise and visibility near our community school and playground. Equally important is the degradation it will cause to the already troubled west area of the Sunalta community. Scarboro residents travel through the Sunalta community to access the river pathway and downtown core. We are as equally concerned as our Sunalta neighbours about the escalating crime and drug problems that are encroaching on our communities. We are fearful that this trend will continue to worsen if careful attention is not paid to the development of west end communities.
We are strong supporters of increased public transit to reduce the automobile traffic to the downtown core; this is why many of your constituents have chosen to live in this community. We only ask the City to install a public transit system that considers and sustains all the communities that it impacts, which includes active and early consultation on the design parameters.
